Learning4Life

Learning4Life is a home-grown initiative that forms a vital part of our pastoral care programme.

Our Aims

Our approach centres on building strong foundations for life. We prepare the children to:

  • Believe in themselves: Through self-appraisal and a focus on growth mindset, we encourage our pupils to understand their own strengths and build confidence.
Respect others: Our anti-bullying focus emphasises kindness and teaches the children to respect the ideas and feelings of everyone around them. Our curriculum encourages open-mindedness and appreciation of diverse faiths and cultures.
  • Be a good citizen: We teach our pupils about the world around them, including how the law and government work. They learn how to manage money and are encouraged to give back to the community through charity work and local projects.
  • Become leaders: Pupils make the most of the wide range of leadership opportunities, which develops the children into reliable, independent and positive role models.

How We Do It

Each week, pupils have two Learning4Life sessions within a supportive tutor system.

Learning is fun and practical. The core curriculum is blended with Learning4Life, to make sure that core values of are part of everything we do.

We have frequent guest speakers, who engage the children brilliantly and bring learning to life.

We also have a strong focus on online safety and mental well-being to make sure your child is supported both in school and at home.

The children get to run their own stalls at our school charity fête and during the February fundraising month, giving them hands-on experience of financial management

There is action in the community, such as visiting local charities, singing in residential care homes or beach cleaning, reinforcing the importance of contributing positively to society.
