Job Opportunities

Our staff is the school’s greatest asset. From the inspiring and experienced teachers to the efficient and friendly grounds team, everyone contributes to the distinctive atmosphere you find here.

We give children the opportunity to take part in a world of experiences. Our staff has a range of skills and often industry or professional experience. Many members of staff play more than one role across the school.

Westbourne House is an equal opportunities employer.  All vacancies are advertised here. Any queries should be directed to our HR Manager, Robyn Aubrey: hr@westbournehouse.org 01243 770750 .

Westbourne House is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with current and past employers, online checks, the Disclosure & Barring Service, overseas checks and the Secretary of State's Prohibition List from Teaching and Management.

Our Values

Diverse: We aim to create varied experiences for children and staff help create this diversity. The children experience a broad curriculum, wide-ranging activities and incredible teaching by people from all walks of life.

Active: Our children and staff are active. Sports and physical activities are an integral part of school life.

Kind: We aim for everyone to help and treat others with kindness and respect. We focus on the whole child and our staff gently discovers and shapes the character of each child.

Ambitious: We encourage each child to strive for and reach their potential. Staff members are important mentors for the children as they grow up.

Participatory: The school is an inclusive environment, where children are supported to participate in all activities. Our ethos is to encourage children to try everything in order to discover where their strengths lie. Our community - including children, parents, Old Westbournians and staff - is also an important part of what makes Westbourne House so special.

Benefits

All staff benefit from the use of school facilities whilst not in use by the school or outside clubs (for example use of the swimming pool, tennis courts, squash courts and sports hall).

We provide lunch for staff who are scheduled to teach both before and after lunch and for all support staff. Hot and cold drinks are available at break times.

We offer the cycle to work scheme. We have the Royal London Pension Scheme for teaching staff and all support staff/non teachers are auto-enrolled onto the Westbourne House pension scheme.

What our staff say

We asked teachers and office staff to describe what gets them out of bed in the morning.  Their messages give insight into our motivations and values, and the benefits of life in the Westbourne community.

"I love the mix of traditional customs and values and the possibility of moving forward. This can only happen with super children, a cohesive team of colleagues and supportive parents."
Tim Pitman, Head of Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural Education
The holistic approach to education at Westbourne House means that teachers play many roles: classroom teachers, personal tutors, sports coaches and mentors. Every day is different and rewarding.”
Alice Fisher, Head of English
