Home from home
The boarding houses at Westbourne House are uniquely friendly in size, creating a real home from home feel.
Our younger boarders in Years 3-6 live in the original Georgian manor house "Main House". They have small, friendly dormitories and relax in the evenings in the ‘snug’, which has wonderful views over the front drive and 2XI cricket pitch.
As pupils get older, they have the chance to board in one of six smaller boarding houses in our grounds, which look very much like family homes. The accommodation is bright and homely and the children love playing games in the common room in the evenings, catching up with their friends and making toast!
Each boarding house is hosted by a couple, who are the children’s houseparents. Houseparents help create a wonderful, family atmosphere and have the experience and energy to build strong relationships with the children in the boarding house. In partnership with teachers and the pastoral team, houseparents look after each boarder’s wellbeing ensuring that they are happy, healthy and thriving.
Telephone numbers for each boarding house can be found in our parent pages (secure).
