Westbourne reach summit of Mount Everest

Westbourne House School Prep School was set a challenge: as a community could we climb Mount Everest in five days?

Between all the pupils and staff, we would need to climb 52,047 steps which would take us all the way up to the 29,029 ft summit.

To add to the fun, Prebendal School challenged us to a race to the top!

Our target was around 10,409 steps a day.  We got off to a slow start on Friday but then powered through the weekend. Here are our daily statistics:

Friday – 5,203
Saturday - 12,216
Sunday – 19,747
Monday – 12,027
Tuesday – The remaining 2854 plus 85 extra!

Miss Chambers commented: "I would like to say well done and thank you to all who took part! We managed to complete it at midday on Tuesday 5th May, 12 hours early. Prebendal finished 24 hours before us, but I am really pleased that we achieved our goal!  Take a look at the fleur below that has all your names in it."
