Miss Chambers shares an action packed 2nd half of term

What a busy final push to the end of term! The girls have had so many opportunities squeezed in to limited time; I hope you enjoy reading the highlights. May your summer holidays be filled with lots of play, fun and laughter for all.

Rounders:

U13s

The A team didn't have another match as they had cricket fixtures. The Bs and Cs added another win each and remain unbeaten! All three teams played against their parents…
and we had two wins to the pupils and a draw. The girls have demonstrated some fantastic rounders skills and tactical knowledge – well done.

U12s

The A team lost their match but they did win the Handcross Park tournament convincingly. Their fielding was very tight, please read the match report here Handcross Park Tournament

The B team lost their match, making it 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss for them this season.

They had solid fielding but placing the hits should still be a focus for all.

U11s

The girls have had a great second half of term winning all of their matches. The A team won our tournament and the Bs came 5th out of 10! They have worked immensely hard
and seen great progress.

U10s

The A team added another win and remain unbeaten for the season. They came 2nd in the Windlesham tournament which had over 20 schools! Windlesham Tournament The Bs had a less successful 2nd half but as a year group their fielding has significantly improved and they communicate well. Batting placement for the Bs was still a work in progress.

U9s

Not as successful in this half of the season but they progressed massively over the term, making contact with the ball more regularly, making wise decisions when running and working really well as a team. When fielding they demonstrated accurate throws and good use of long barriers. They are starting to understand the more complex tactics.

Cricket:

Everyone had the opportunity to play in some form of cricket matches and most got to play against other schools too. For further details please see the Girls’ Cricket Summary.

The girls have made some fantastic progress this half term and they have all enjoyed getting to grips with what is to most of them a new sport. They have had some close results and have learned a lot along the way. Highlights include the tournaments. The U10s won the Brighton College match and we had a mixed age team in Salisbury Cathedral School’s tournament and they showed some great teamwork and brilliant cricket.

Athletics:

Our Westbourne House athletes have had a great season. Read the summary here.

Swimming:

Issy Rose qualified for the IAPS Finals at the London Aquatic Centre where the Olympic games were held. She did brilliantly securing a new PB and 5th place in the 25m Butterfly.

Isabella swims her way to the IAPS final

We had some great fun cooling off in the hot weather playing water rounders and the Year 3s did a minion water balloon relay.
