Westbourne House staged a First Round Match of the U11 Primary Cup this week.
Five schools took part including Hurst and St Lawrence C of E Primary School. Our Chess A Team, made up of Alex , Nathan, Olly and Euan played well and with great concentration and determination. They ended up with four wins out of 12 matches, with Nathan winning two of his four games.
Birchwood Primary School of Burgess Hill earned plaudits for winning 11 out of their 12 games and were the well-deserved winners.
Westbourne finished fourth and will go through to the Plate competition.
Westbourne Houses's Chess B Team also played in U11 Primary Cup before Christmas.
