Boarding news

It's been a fantastic final week of boarding at Westbourne House. The children and adults have had a blast canoeing, rounds at ten pin bowling, a disco and a fun slip and slide.

On the final weekend, our boarders had a great river adventure. Starting at the old stone bridge in Pulborough, they paddled north on the river Arun against the tide. They fitted in a snack pitstop before paddling on to Stopham, where the tidal river Arun meets the river Rother, for a lunch camp. Here the boarders loved the chance to do some independent canoeing / falling in / paddling! Later back on dry land, the boarders said they felt their ice cream was very well deserved! A huge thank you to Mr Knight, Head of Canoeing and Kayaking, who made all the fun happen with such kindness and skill.

The Middle Lodge Year 7 boys celebrated their successful term with a night of bowling and a variety of arcade machines. It was a great evening and fun was had by all.

And in the last week, the boarders celebrated the end of the year … and they did it in style and had the best time! Slip and slide, games in the boundaries, sunshine, barbecue, ice cream van and then the much longed-for disco! A big thank you to DJ Stewart for pumping out those disco classics and all the boarding house team for making it a such a wonderful night to remember.
