Richard Tyrrell

English Teacher, Drama Teacher
"BA (Hons) (Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama), MA (Royal Central School of Speech and Drama) "

I was educated at Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital School in Bristol, a blue coat boarding school, with the same ethos as Westbourne House. It was here that I discovered my love for sport and drama. I trained as an actor at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama, and after several years in the profession, taught English in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

I have an interest in the voice, in terms of performance, communication and indeed the teaching voice, and have an MA in Voice Studies from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London.

Following many years teaching drama and English in the state sector, I enjoy the challenges and rewards of teaching at Westbourne House, a superb school with an excellent team of dedicated staff, bringing out the best in the pupil body.

As well as teaching English, I am also a Year 7/8 form tutor.
