Our Year 3 pupils' learning has taken them deep into the Amazon rainforest, where they transformed into budding naturalists, channelling their inner David Attenborough to create their own nature documentaries in the woods.
From the elusive pink river dolphin to the watchful iguana, their storytelling and observation brought the natural world vividly to life. Even Mr Summerhays couldn’t resist joining in, producing his own tongue-in-cheek “documentary” as he observed Year 3 in their natural habitat!
Beyond their own learning, Year 3 have shown wonderful leadership and kindness. They warmly supported Year 2 pupils preparing to move up, delivering an assembly full of enthusiasm and reassurance, and writing thoughtful letters to their buddies, sharing all the things they love most about life in Year 3.
And, making the most of the glorious weather, pupils took to the lake with Mr Knight and their teachers, enjoying peaceful moments on the water while spotting an array of wildlife from the eggs of a great crested grebe to prehistoric-looking dragonflies and even fish beneath the surface.
It has been a term full of exploration, imagination and care for others, a shining example of Year 3 at their very best.
