West Wittering field trip

It was a beautiful day for our Year 7's geography field trip to the spit at East Head, West Wittering, to investigate the shifting sand dunes, salt marsh and flowing tides.

The pupils were placed in three groups and took turns in conducting three fieldwork activities and learnt about coastal processes and formation of the land spit. They also looked at the methods of beach management and the coastal defences we use to save our beaches as well as doing a litter and visitors' survey.
