We are delighted with the outcome of our most recent ISI report, in which the school met every one of ISI's rigorous standards, the top possible outcome. Read the Report.
"We are proud that the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) recognised what truly defines Westbourne House: joyful opportunities, a foundation of kindness and pupils who develop a ‘yes’ mindset."
Headmaster Martin Barker
Martin Barker continued: "Independent Schools Inspectorate visited the school just before half term. Visits now take place every three years, instead of the previous six, and no longer give a quality grading - the standards are either met or not met. The visiting team included five inspectors, plus an additional inspector who was assessing the lead inspector. As you can imagine, the process is rigorous, examining compliance, pupil well being, safeguarding and quality of education.
"Firstly, they saw clearly that we nurture pupils who think for themselves, who have a brilliant ‘yes’ mindset and who understand that mistakes are stepping stones on the learning journey. They noted we help our pupils to solve real-world problems and collaborate well with others. And importantly, we make sure that every child is supported to achieve their potential."
"Secondly, they recognised the efforts of our staff team to ensure we are a kind community filled with confident pupils. They observed that we champion self-expression and our pupils successfully build self-belief through our broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum, which gives every pupil the opportunity to discover their strengths and shine."
"In addition, they commented on how well we prepare pupils for life beyond Westbourne House. Our children take their next steps with confidence, thanks to meaningful leadership experiences, a growing understanding of the world and the knowledge that a kind and supportive community can achieve great things."
“Pupils articulate their learning with confidence and demonstrate a mature understanding that mistakes are an essential part of the learning process."

"We are glad the inspecting team recognised our strengths, the findings are a great testament to the dedication of the whole school community, who work so well together to support every child. It was wonderful to see a very high level of satisfaction on many fronts."
“Pupils celebrate others’ achievements in a genuinely supportive way.”
