School band Red Mist took part in the Ovation Rock Show at the Minerva Theatre. Ovation is a local organisation which looks to give young musicians the opportunity to work together in all sorts of combinations, largely in a band setting.
The day itself was a wonderful experience with a rehearsal in the morning, followed by the afternoon concert to a packed auditorium. The vibe was incredibly supportive and non-competitive. The boys played Fell In Love With A Girl by the White Stripes and did a great job, with professional lighting, equipment, and sound to complement their performance.
All the performers were in the auditorium the whole time, which meant that the younger ones heard the more experienced players and singers. Generally the standard was high and clearly there is a lot of talent out there in the Chichester area! This is an annual event and we hope to be involved again next year with the next generation of band musicians.
