Outdoor learning at its best
This half term, our Reception children have been exploring the topic 'Predator and Prey'. This gave them the opportunity to explore diverse biomes, from scorching deserts to hot, wet rainforests, and discover the creatures that call these places home.

To take their learning further, Mrs Lewis and Mrs Rogers took their classes to Chichester Harbour for a day of outdoor exploring.
Our pupils firstly enjoyed some bug hunting and pond dipping, which allowed them to see creatures in their natural habitats and look at the different components of local landscapes.
They then explored the shore line and found lots of tiny crabs, for which they enjoyed making crab homes.

"Since this fantastic trip, we have been keeping an eye on the brand new peregrine falcon chicks on the Chichester Cathedral's webcam. We've also dissecting owl pellets to learn more about predators and prey," added Mrs Lewis.
