From their first steps into the Reception classrooms on Thursday 3rd September, our newest members of the Westbourne House family haven’t looked back.
The children's first swimming lesson was a particular highlight, as was walking up to the dining hall to enjoy a delicious lunch. Eating together as part of ‘family service’ is such a special part of the day.
Our topic this half term has been Super Me! We started with all that was familiar by painting self portraits and sharing photos of our families. In recent weeks, we have begun to learn about our wider school community by exploring the grounds and meeting members of the Westbourne family. We have even made maps and models of our school!
"One of the highlights of the term was the children's outstanding performance of Mr Scarecrow in our Pre-Prep and Junior Harvest Festival. They sang with such confidence and I know they will have made their parents proud."

In the week before half term, we were ready to set off on our first trip, and what an adventure it was! We headed to the beach at West Wittering. As we approached the minibuses, one of our intrepid explorers declared “Look, we’re going on the Westbourne Trailblazing bus!”
With rain on our cheeks, we made the most of our outing by refining our sandcastle building skills, making a map of the school in the sand and creating repeating patterns with beach treasures such as shells and seaweed.
"It is such a privilege to guide the children at the start of their journey. From day one they have shown such enthusiasm and joy for their learning. They are well and truly thriving."
