Kindness is in our DNA
It was a special moment this month when we met together as a school community to plant our Kindness Tree.
“The tree is a perfect symbol of the kindness that grows within our school. Our Reception and Nursery children helped Freddie, our Troop Leader, to plant the roots of the tree deep within the soil - just like the spirit of kindness in our school."
Beth Armitage, Head of Kindness Committee and Head of History
She continued: “We will look after our tree - we even have a special watering pipe that we planted to make sure the tree can grow big and strong. This will be a special image for all our pupils, representing the kindness that we foster here continues to grow and is right in the heart of our community.
“The Reception children thought about how big the tree might be when they are in Year 8! The Kindness Committee have already suggested so many lovely ways that we can make the tree a focal point for the many kindness initiatives that we have here at school.”
"It's insane how big they get just from that!" one pupil exclaimed.
Headmaster, Mr Barker, added: “A good school is where everyone is committed to doing their best to be kind and respectful – always.”
