Meet your Easter term school leaders

Our fantastic new Troop Leader, Lucy, recommends that our pupils and parents visit our new WHS Community Hub to meet our new school leaders.

Lucy asked all her fellow Year 8 leaders – Patrol Leaders and Prefects – to join her in creating a video to introduce themselves and to answer a series of questions so we can get to know them better. They talk about the things they love about Westbourne House, what they hope to do as leaders, give advice on how to stay positive and share their favourite joke.

The WHS Community Hub is also home to several new initiatives including our Lunchtime Club, where pupils can inspire each other by uploading their offscreen hobbies: from kitchen disco to origami, this is the way to share inspirational and fun ideas to keep our community upbeat and happy.

What do our leaders say about Westbourne House?

  • “I love the freedom with the huge grounds and sport opportunities and many, many other things”
  • “I love games and science and definitely being around my friends and not having to empty the dishwasher!”
  • “I love Westbourne so much because everyone is so kind and the teachers are so supportive”
  • “because of all the opportunities to experience so many different things”
  • “I love all the lessons… and I love class discussions because they are so fun and you get to hear everyone else’s opinion.”

They give some great advice about staying positive:

  • “focus on the good in each day”
  • "get outside and away from the screen”
  • “calling your friends and stay in in touch”
  • “Call your friends on zoom and get out when you can”

And share what makes them happy:

  • “mountain biking on the South Downs”
  • “sailing and swimming, anything to do with the water!”
  • “dancing, it’s incredible the way it feels.”
  • "Facetime with my friends"
