Hatching sweet ducklings

Our Nursery pupils have been 'Down on the Farm' for their topic this term and were very excited to return to school, after half term, to discover five beautiful, smooth duck eggs in an incubator in their classroom.

They watched and waited so patiently for the eggs to hatch and, when the big day arrived, we could tell by their reactions that the yellow fluffy ducklings were worth the wait!

Mrs McLaughlin said: "How lucky we have been to look after the ducklings.   After watching our ducks hatch, we went to the lake to see if we could see some ducks on the lake! We didn't but we did see some swans!

"We have loved having the ducklings; they have made the children very happy and the whole journey has been a lovely experience for the children."

The nursery children have also enjoyed lots of Easter activities including egg rolling.
