Yee-haw! Boarders in the Wild West

Cowboy hats were out and the pupils were full of excitement as they got ready for a Wild West-themed boarding night.

Our Open Boarding Evening brought pupils together to experience the warm and welcoming atmosphere of boarding at Westbourne House.

"For some it was their first night boarding. I loved seeing friends encouraging one another, trying something new, sharing in the fun and then winding down side by side as the night came to an end. A brilliant Open House! We’re already looking forward to the next one!"

Claire Davies, Head of Boarding

In the 'Game Zone', our boarders could test their aim at 'Hoop the Cactus' and brilliantly, James, the brave boarding assistant, made an excellent moving cactus too - much more tricky!

Meanwhile, not far away, the children created their own Wanted posters at the dress-up photo station.

In the 'Dance Off Zone', pupils firstly got busy making accessories for their cowboy outfits before learning a tricky dance routine to Cotton Eye Joe!

Perhaps the star of the evening was the inflatable obstacle course;  pupils raced, climbed and tackled their way through the course, squealing with laughter.

Or Perhaps it was the Wild West-themed dinner: a fantastic spread of BBQ ribs, cowboy beans, mac & cheese and much more!

Without a doubt, the feast was the perfect way to round off an action-packed evening full of laughter, easy conversation and a wonderful sense of belonging. It was a brilliant example of the fun and friendship that make boarding at Westbourne House so special.

Thank you to everyone who made this jam-packed evening so brilliant.
