As part of their Victorians history topic, Year 2 pupils have been exploring the artists of the era and producing some truly fantastic artwork of their own. Using watercolours alongside oil and chalk pastels, the children created pieces inspired by Van Gogh, L.S. Lowry, William Morris and Monet, showing great creativity and confidence in their techniques.
The topic has sparked real enthusiasm beyond the classroom too. One parent shared: “She has been so inspired by the topic this term that she wanted to spend her own money on Victorian pop-up books.”
The children themselves have been equally proud of their achievements.
"I love doing art – I never thought I’d be able to draw a picture that looked like Lowry’s street scene!”
