What a glorious feelin'

Transporting us to the Roaring Twenties, Year 6 brought to life Hollywood during its turbulent transition from silence to sound in Singin' in the Rain.  They injected a terrific amount of energy into a hugely colourful production that featured stunning costumes and music.

We applaud the children's ambition: they pulled off a hugely animated show that included movies of the pupils being projected, whole cast umbrella dances, rain machines and even cast members appearing from inside giant cakes!

Huge thanks must go to all of the adults involved in this colossal team effort as the children packed every ounce of energy they had left into one special evening.

Some of the biggest accolades at the end of the performance went to the back stage crew who worked incredibly efficiently on the many scene changes and scene sets.

On stage, Fin and Ollie did admirably well to take on the main roles of Don and Cosmo respectively with challenging tap dancing and characterisation required. Maia Gehr had very little drama experience, yet lit up the stage with a superb interpretation of the silent star with the disastrous voice, Lina Lamont. Isabelle Aston showcased her gifted natural acting ability as Kathy and Oscar Tallis put an almightily different twist on the interpretation of the lead role, producer R.F. Simpson.

Well done to everyone involved; it was a huge team effort and everyone pulled together to create a truly vibrant production.
