Westbourne House hosted its first Primary Cup chess tournament in this county-wide competition .
Forty-eight schools from across Sussex entered the competition which is open to children up to the age of 11.
Our U11 team of four were drawn against Windlesham, Dorset House School and Georgian Gardens CP School, Rustington. Westbourne House School achieved three wins and a draw in our 12 matches and finished third overall.
Team manager Mr Stewart said: "This was an amazing result given our young team which included children from Year 3 and Year 4. I am so proud of them and delighted to see how our chess club is going from strength to strength. A big thank you to all our opponents and we look forward to our Primary Cup matches in the next round."
