Launching yourself across the pool with gusto, as the crowd cheers you on, creates a happy spark inside and that spirit was clear to see at our recent Year 1 Showcase and Year 2 Gala.
At Westbourne House, our swimming teachers, who work with children from Nursery upwards, believe wholeheartedly in the journey. Every courageous moment in the pool is celebrated and each child is supported to succeed at every step. It is through these small acts of bravery that lasting confidence begins to grow, not just in the water, but in life beyond it.
The Year 1 Showcase offered a wonderful opportunity for parents to see just how far their children have come. Whether it was jumping confidently into the pool, swimming widths or lengths, or mastering skills with the help of a noodle, every stage of progress was recognised and celebrated.
Meanwhile, the Year 2 Gala captured the same spirit of encouragement and joy. Pupils took part at their own level, cheered on enthusiastically every stroke of the way! The event concluded with a lively floating mat relay, bringing plenty of splashing, laughter and a fitting sense of fun to round off the occasion.
Together, these events were a celebration of the swimming journey at Westbourne House, which is built on encouragement, resilience and the growing confidence of every child.
