Safer Internet Day 2022

Safer Internet Day took place on 8 February 2022 and this year’s theme was ‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online’.

As a school we are going to be teaching safer internet over the coming weeks in a broad and holistic way across our Learning4Life lessons, ICT lessons and in various assemblies across the whole school.

However, we thought that some of the resources created for and around Safer Internet Day could be useful for parents.

The links below from Safer Internet Day’s website are brilliant as conversation starters with your children, whether they are 3 or 13.

This local guidance is a useful tool – A Guide to Keeping Your Child Safe Online. Please click to view and download.

Finally, for Prep School parents, we wanted to draw your attention to an upcoming online workshop from TeenTips: “Digital Wellbeing with Dr Elizabeth Milovidov*” on Wednesday 16th March, 6.30pm.  All Prep School parents have automatic membership of TeenTips.

*Elizabeth Milovidov is an international e-safety expert and lawyer, who will talk about digital parenting and how to keep young people safe. Elizabeth will cover the current online trends, digital rights for children and most importantly, tips and resources for protecting children in this digital age.
