Reception had a fabulous time at Chichester Harbour, exploring the shoreline, ponds and the long grasses to develop their understanding of habitats. Not only are the children clearly thriving but they are also learning how to ensure the wildlife around them thrives too.
The children pond dipped to find freshwater insects and amphibian life using nets. With magnifying glass in hand and their findings in trays, they discovered the incredible life that lives beneath the surface. They learnt so much about wildlife, in this way, as well as enjoying a big bug hunt.
"To top it all, a member of public commented on how polite the children were during the trip; huge credit to some of our youngest learners,"
Mrs Rogers, Year 1 teacher.
