Pallant House Art Workshop

Our Year 8 pupils visited Pallant House in Chichester to study the sculptural artist Barbara Hepworth. After looking at Hepworth’s sculptures, they were introduced to soap carving and came away with some beautiful soap sculptures. Now, back in the classroom, the children will extend their sculpture learning and generate a range of ideas for their final piece for our Summer Art Exhibition.

“We’re very lucky to have such a wonderful gallery and learning resource so close to our school. The children would have carried on soap carving all day if we could have let them! They’ll remember this visit for a long time."

Mrs Jeram, Head of Art

“We’re all really looking forward to carrying on with the project back in the classroom. I know some of the children have already started planning their final pieces at home," she continued.

"I can’t believe how satisfying it is to sit and carve."
