Year 2 set sail for their watersports session
Our Year 2 pupils were so excited to get back out on the lake after a long winter of waiting. They had the most wonderful time canoeing, led by our Head of Canoeing and Kayaking, Mr Knight, who encouraged teamwork, fun and above all, safety.
Mr Knight made sure that before the group left the shore, each child understood the importance of keeping on their life jacket, listening carefully to instructions and behaving sensibly.
Our Year 2 children listened carefully and responded beautifully to the responsibility. They each took it in turns to paddle and helped Mr Knight bring the canoe out of the water at the end of the session.
“It’s amazing for the children to be so immersed in nature. Last year we were lucky enough to spot some baby birds hatching by the water - I’m looking forward to seeing what this year will bring.”

“My favourite part of going out on the lake is when it’s my turn to paddle,” said one Year 2 pupil. "I can't wait until we go out on the lake again."
