Our parent-led career fair

Year 7 & 8 consider the question: what might you want to be when you are older?

Our Year 7 and Year 8 pupils were lucky enough to hear from nine parents about their personal career journeys and their areas of expertise.

“Year 7 is a key moment in a child's school journey – it's when they begin to look ahead and consider their place in the wider world”

Mrs Brown, Head of Pastoral Care

From a business owner to an army doctor, a marketing agency-owner to a automotive product manager, our volunteer advisors each represented varied careers, but they all shared one thing: nurturing a passion and working hard to achieve.

“Introducing our pupils to a range of careers early on helps to spark curiosity, broaden horizons, and get them thinking about their future goals in a really positive way.”

“We formally begin careers education in Year 7, but we plant the seeds earlier. Our Pre-Prep children get regular visits from a wide range of professionals and our inspirational speaker programme starts in Year 4, helping children start to think about their futures from a young age.”

“Thank you to our brilliant parents for giving up their valuable time to give the children a taste of different paths and how diverse the world of work can be,” Mrs Brown added.

“I would like to work in the car industry and think about the cars of the future”
