Nursery children celebrate Chinese New Year

“Gung Hay Fat Choy” - Happy New Year to you!

The Nursery and Pre-Nursery children celebrated Chinese New Year - the year of the rat. Head of Nursery, Julie Burnand, said: "The children enjoyed dressing up as a Chinese dragon and performing a dragon dance for their friends. We found red pockets which are traditional lucky money envelopes and we counted the coins inside, which was a wonderful way to practise our maths skills.  The children also worked on their fine motor scissor skills whilst making Chinese lanterns, which looked absolutely fantastic hung up in the Nursery."

The children want to know, can you eat with chopsticks? They found eating noodles with chopsticks tricky, and luckily they persevered because the noodles were delicious!
