Doc Bailey visited Year 1's online classroom to ask them to take part in an exciting experiment called ‘Lava in a Cup’.
"This week, you're going to make lava, like a volcano, in a cup! HA!", Doc Bailey told the children.
Pupils were soon putting together their experiment. They discovered that first of all, the oil floats on top of the water because it is lighter than the water. When the salt is added on top, it sinks down into the water because it is heavier and takes some oil with it. Then the salt dissolves and back up goes the oil! It's brilliant fun to watch.
