Our Year 3 pupils had a terrific term with all their topic work based on ‘Tremors’.
Year 3 teacher, Mrs Pitman, said: “The children have delved into rocks, relics and rumbles and explored this topic with great enthusiasm. More recently they have worked in small groups to create a model of a volcano, following written instructions. Each week, the children have added more to their models.
"From the starting point of a humble water bottle, there followed the planning of the design, the papier-mâché, the painting and, this week, the eruptions! Squeals of excitement filled the art room as gallons of red, bubbly lava burst out dramatically from the models. All the designs were sturdy enough to survive the eruptions and the pyroclastic flow went on and on and on! What a great afternoon!”
