Boarding round-up: summertime fun

Sunshine-filled boarding evenings

Light glorious evenings give our boarders the opportunity to make the most of the outdoors. With the sun lingering later into the day, the grounds come alive with energy and laughter as pupils enjoy making up their own games, playing tennis, tennis rounders with boarding staff, exploring in the woods and free time chatting with friends.

Mr and Mrs Falconer's Leave-Out-In weekend

Our new exeat programme got off to a fantastic start with highlights including exhilarating rides at LEGOLAND Windsor, the chance to see vintage cars at famous Goodwood and a step back in time at the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth.

Our boarders had a wonderful weekend, which struck a happy balance between fun and relaxation. They returned feeling content and refreshed, with new knowledge, shared memories and plenty of smiles.

"Legoland was so much fun! I loved all of the roller coasters. The water ride Hydra's Challenge was my favourite!"

Year 8 boarder

Mr & Mrs Cutting's weekend

Our boarders splashed down at the amazing waterpark in the New Forest. With wetsuits on and buoyancy aids secured, they threw themselves into the floating obstacle course with enthusiasm and boundless energy! There was non-stop laughter as well as encouragement and teamwork, with pupils cheering each other on as they tackled every challenge.

As Mr Cutting, Houseparent, put it: "Childhood the way it was designed to be."

Mr Dichmont and Mr Perry's weekend

The pupils took on the Escape Room challenge in Portsmouth, with Mr Perry heading up one team and Mr Dichmont the other. Who would come out on top? The competition was fierce as they raced to solve the puzzles.

After this high-paced start, the boarders went on a peaceful walk in the South Downs to Halnaker Windmill, to take in the gorgeous view down to the sea. The weekend ended with the chance to explore Chichester's shops.
