Boarding round-up - July 23

The summer term is everyone's favourite with bright evening light that allows everyone to make the most of all that Westbourne House has to offer.

However, as the school quietens down at the end of each Saturday, the full-time boarders rule the roost!  From evening walks to the top of Halnaker Hill to appreciate the stunning views of the South Downs and the sea, to the high-octane fun of the Funland in Hayling Island, our full-time boarding family have shared some great weekends.

Funland

At the end of an incredibly sunny week at school, the boarders were taken on a trip to the Funland amusement park on Hayling Island! They arrived just in time for the arrival of the rain! This did not, however, dampen anyone's mood and the children enjoyed multiple rides on the roller coaster, Extreme, Cyclone, Snake Slide and more. Mrs Pitman, Miss Van Holland and Miss Immy did not sit on the sidelines and much giggling could be heard all round. In true British style, once everyone had enjoyed the rides, everyone enjoyed an ice cream in the drizzle. With pockets full of change the children then ventured into the arcade to enjoy the 2p machines, and a competitive Table Ice Hockey match between Mrs Pitman and Miss Van Holland was cheered on by all. Thank you Mr and Mrs Pitman for a wonderful trip out!

Halnaker Windmill

We are very lucky to be surrounded by countryside and seascape! These stunning pictures taken up at Halnaker Windmill with gorgeous views over the South Downs. The boarding crew enjoyed this short but sweet walk up the hill before supper one Saturday.  Sunday's fun was shopping in Chichester, which the boarders love to do, and bowling in the afternoon.  Natalia was the bowling star - the boarders played one game without the bumpers and Natalia got two consecutive strikes.

Slip 'n' Slide

Thanks to Miss Van Holland and her giant bottle of washing up liquid, the scene was set for some amazing fun on the now traditional summertime fun of the slip 'n' slide.  The photos say it all really!
