Boarding Easter Term

Weekend Boarding

Boarding weekends are a relaxing mixture of free time, making use of the facilities at school like the swimming pool and squash courts, games, movie nights and fun outings.

Here are just two recent weekends.

Trampolines and arty cards with Houseparent Mrs Jeram

The boarders enjoyed a hearty English breakfast before using the quiet areas of the school to phone home and chat with friends and family.

Creative minds and loving hearts were combined in the morning art activity. Pop up Mother’s Day cards were carefully constructed and then decorated by the children before a selection of rocks were painted and prepared for a secret location within the school grounds.

After a delicious chicken roast dinner, the boarders packed into the minibus for a shopping trip in Southampton. Multiple goodies were purchased that should provide some added decoration, comfort and fun within the boarding houses.

The final activity of the weekend was a fun-filled trampoline activity session at Oxygen Freejumping. Boarders practiced their somersaults, climbed inflatable slides and played dodgeball in a colourful and exciting environment. The weekend was rounded off with a visit to the shops to stock up on evening sweets and goodies before returning to school.

Country air and Adventure Epic with Houseparents Mrs and Mrs Cousens

The boarders had a lovely day with Houseparents Ed and Charlotte and their two children.

They set off on a sunny walk down the Centurion Way, between Lavant and West Dean, from where they climbed the hill towards the Trundle.  Everyone enjoyed getting out in the countryside and the views.

The boarders ended their day with a trip to the cinema to see Call of the Wild, which is a Harrison Ford adventure epic.

Shrove Tuesday

Our junior boarders celebrated Shrove Tuesday making and flipping pancakes and having pancake races in the 'blue passage'. Thank you to Mel and our boarding staff for making it such a fun night ... and that was before the eating of the pancakes!
