Anti-bullying week 2026

Anti-Bullying Week is an opportunity for our pupils to reflect on the importance of kindness, respect and making sure everyone feels they belong. Throughout the week, pupils took part in a range of workshops and activities, including wearing odd socks (to celebrate being unique), a kindness boogie, visit from an inspirational speaker. Overall, the aim was to encourage our pupils to speak up, support others and celebrate what makes us all different.

Click, Share, Beware

As part of anti-bullying week, our Year 8 pupils took part in a 'Click, Share, Beware' internet safety session led by law education specialist and former Westbourne teacher, Mr Stewart. Through discussions and real-life scenarios, pupils explored where the line can be drawn between a joke, bullying and lawbreaking, as well as considering how our actions online can affect others.

The session encouraged pupils to think carefully about what they share online, ask permission before sharing others’ information or images, consider the impact of their actions and reflect on how they can use their online presence positively and responsibly.

We have a lot of power online but should use it wisely and positively

Visit from singer Sammy Angelo

Sammy Angelo, who is a wonderful artist and inspirational singer came in and performed to our pupils. Sammy developed alopecia as a teenager, an experience that deeply affected his body image and mental health. He shared an uplifting story of facing adversity head-on and coming out the other side with confidence, optimism and a desire to inspire others. The pupils were thrilled to dance to his music and be able to speak face to face with him.

Kindness Post Box

Mrs Armitage was delighted with all the post in the Kindness Post Box. An idea created by our Kindness Committee, pupils posted positive notes, sharing examples of kindness they had noticed or experienced, or simply to share something good or happy that had happened to them.
