Activities galore in the Nursery

Our Nursery children have had an exciting, diverse set of experiences so far this term.  Please look at the photos for a snapshot of some of the fun created.

  • The children were visited by Mrs Biddulph's 11-week old grandson, Elijah, who had a bath whilst they watched and learned all about taking care of one so small.  Afterwards, everyone had a go at bathing a baby (doll) with much splashing and laughter.
  • We have been using the sports hall for active sessions: running around, balancing, catching and throwing. The sports hall is a really big space and is an exciting sporty adventure for the children.
  • Making a fruit salad provided lots of opportunities for tasting fruit and helped the children to improve their dexterity as they practised using a knife.
  • They have been on a tour of the Pre-Prep!  They visited Mrs Lines in the office, and met all the teachers in the various years, and thoroughly enjoyed waving at older brothers and sisters.
  • During a drama workshop, they met a circus ringmaster and were led on an exciting adventure.
  • We watched the children enjoying making biscuits out of play doh and so we enriched the experience for them by going on to bake real biscuits.
  • We have been using inventive ways to introduce letters and numbers to our children.  In the photos you will see children making three apple prints as we learnt the sound 'a' and the number 3.
  • Have you ever heard that it is fun to play with rice? All children love sensory and messy play and we often set up new and exciting textures to explore.  Here the children are playing with rattly, flowing rice.
