Music scholars
We are delighted that five of our pupils, who enjoy and play their instruments so passionately, have been awarded seven music scholarships by senior schools. The ethos in the school is hugely supportive of music, and our many musical endeavors are a vital and inclusive part of the day to day school experience. Our music scholars are an amazing example to the younger pupils, who see what can be achieved through hard work and a love of music.
Congratulations to:
"I am very proud of these five pupils and their incredible achievements on their instruments. For me and the music department, it is very rewarding to see this hard work come to fruition. We have a wonderful team of peripatetic teachers who always go the extra mile for our pupils and these awards are to their credit too.
We look forward to following these pupils’ musical careers at their next schools - and beyond - with interest."

"I feel really proud of myself. I worked really hard to get these scholarships."

"Pupils enjoy the challenge of preparing for drama scholarships as the process requires being trained in improvisation, sight-reading and creative thinking. For her scholarship, Olive worked extremely hard preparing a very powerful and challenging monologue from the play The Weavers, playing a destitute mother in the industrial revolution. The department is very proud of her achievement."
Mr Cousens, Head of Drama.
Academic Scholarships
“At Westbourne House, there is a really good balance between academic and non-academic subjects. This gives your mind a break, which helps you concentrate in academic lessons.”

Sport Scholarships
Sparking and nurturing a love of being active is something we care deeply about at Westbourne House. All pupils experience a rich and wide-ranging sports curriculum that takes them on a journey of discovery about themselves and what excites and inspires. Our specialist teachers encourage and help them to reach their potential, as well as lay the foundations for a lifetime love of sport and being part of a team.
"The passion that these pupils demonstrate for sport alongside their intelligent game play and good sporting behaviour, make them brilliant sports scholars."
Heads of Sport, Mr Hanley and Mrs Cook
