Growing together - parenting course

We are pleased to be launching an exciting, new initiative to support our parents in the rewarding, yet sometimes challenging, journey of parenting teenagers. Understanding the complexities of adolescence is crucial, and to address the questions and concerns frequently raised by parents, we are thrilled to introduce our new parenting course, "Growing Together" for the Easter term
 
Course Overview and Session Dates:
  • When: Easter Term (Saturdays)
  • Time: 10.00am to 11.00am

    • Saturday 13 January: Teen Development and the Teen Brain
    • Saturday 20 January: Teen Risk and Changing Roles
    • Saturday 24 February: Teen Communications and Emotions
    • Saturday 2 March: Teen Motivation and Creating Confidence
 
Course Highlights/Focus:
 

Teen Development and the Teen Brain (13 January)

  • Understanding the psychological developmental drive of adolescence.
  • Anticipating teenage behaviour and avoiding conflict through effective guidance.
  • Exploring the complex brain changes during adolescence.

Teen Risk and Changing Role (20 January)

  • Setting teenagers up to be more independent whilst ensuring their safety.
  • Helping teens make good choices and resist peer pressure.
  • Adapting your parenting styles to meet the developmental needs of your teenager.

Teen Communication and Emotions (24 February)

  • Talking to teens in a way that encourages them to open up.
  • Using communication to build strong relationships.
  • Equipping teenagers with tools to manage difficult emotions and build emotional intelligence.

Teen Motivation and Creating Confident Teens (2 March)

  • Motivating teens to take responsibility for themselves and their learning.
  • Fostering the development of self-esteem and self-confidence in teenagers.
  • Building competence in teens to enhance overall confidence.
