Wonders of the water world

Our Year 2 pupils dived deeper into their ‘Water Worlds’ topic with a memorable visit to the Blue Reef Aquarium

It was a joy to see the children’s faces light up as they touched real artefacts and watched rays "fly" gracefully through the water overhead, with one pupil remarking, “It made us feel like we were walking along the ocean floor!”

The workshop leader was hugely impressed by the brilliant, thoughtful questions the children asked and how much knowledge they could share from their learning. From spotting puffer fish and giant gourami to discovering turtles and seahorses, the day was filled with excitement, curiosity and hands-on learning, leaving everyone eager to find out more.

"They loved exploring marine habitats. The class put their skills to the test as we searched the tanks for specific creatures. The children were incredibly excited to see puffer fish, giant gourami, turtles and seahorses. Throughout the trip, the children were energised, engaged and eager to learn more."
