Year 7 went to visit Ineos (Ben Ainsley’s Americas Cup racing headquarters) for some hands-on experiences!
Their “Tech Deck” has some amazing technology that allowed us to try virtual sailing using “bone conduction head phones" for sending messages quietly between team members, coding, and a virtual simulator to identify the best way to set up boats for maximum performance.
The theme of the trip was “renewable energy and wind power”. Pupils designed and tested their own wind turbines and engineers from Ineos discussed with the children the ways they could be improved.
