Pupil in top 1% of Maths Challenge

Back in November, Westbourne House Year 5 and 6 pupils took part in the Primary Maths Challenge alongside some 66,500 other pupils.

2,521 pupils from across the world, who scored 21 or over, were invited back to take part in the Bonus Round.

Euan Cleallsmith was the only pupil from Westbourne House to make it through to the Bonus Round; he sat a Bonus Paper in February which had 25 questions to be completed in 45 minutes.

The results came through at the end of last week: Euan was awarded a silver medal, putting him in the top 685 (1%) of participants.

We are very proud of his achievement making him one of the country’s best young mathematicians.
