As storm Ciara blew in, Westbourne House’s top three real tennis pairs (all boarders) travelled to The Oratory to play in the National U13 Schools Real Tennis tournament.
After 10 matches, each of the three Westbourne pairs had acquitted themselves very well. In the end the first Westbourne Pair of William W and Raph G, just beat the first pair from Ludgrove to set up a final against last year’s finalists from MCS.
In the final, the MCS players (who had lost in the final last year to Westbourne) and therefore had an extra year’s experience were too strong for Westbourne House.
William and Raph ended up as national runners up and each received an engraved glass. Seb G and Fin S finished 4th just beating Rufus L and Jack B into 5th, based only on games won.
Throughout the tournament the boys made enormous progress. Well played.
