International boarders enjoy traditional family meal

Two of our international borders were treated to a festive Sunday lunch at the Allinghams (Mr Allingham is Westbourne House's Designated Safeguarding Lead and a maths teacher).

Houseparents Mr and Mrs Pitman and boarders George and Jurus went to the Allingham’s house where Mrs Allingham prepared a five-star, traditional Sunday lunch with Christmas trimmings.

Everybody enjoyed a very lovely family meal. Celebrating the first Sunday in Advent, Jurus and George were introduced to Christmas crackers for the first time. They even said they enjoyed the dubious jokes! Afterwards, the boys enjoyed meeting the animals in the nearby menagerie - including a very sweet donkey - and zoomed along the zip wire.

We were all grateful for the kind hospitality of Mr and Mrs Allingham and their daughter, Tinka (OW). Afterwards, everyone attended the atmospheric Advent Service at Boxgrove.  As Mr Pitman said, 'it was a perfect Sunday'.
