Hunting bugs at the Arundel Wetland Centre

As part of our topic ‘In the tall, tall grass’, Year 1 had a fabulous trip to Arundel Wetland Centre. The children have been learning all about life cycles, mini beasts and plants. The wetland centre is the perfect place to experience these creatures up close and take part in lots of hands-on activities.

The children went pond dipping, bug hunting and learnt about common invertebrates that live in a wetland area. We were able to hold a life-sized swan and were excited to have the opportunity to feed the many ducks and geese that live there. We were very lucky to have beautiful weather and the children thoroughly enjoyed investigating and hunting for bugs in the sunshine.

It was a fantastic trip which was enjoyed by all.
