Hockey tour to Holland

The Year 8 girls had a fabulous hockey tour to Holland over the October half term.  It was a happy mix of some seriously fun and challenging matches, which helped the girls bond as a team, as well as sightseeing and exploration in the Netherlands including visiting Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Dungeons, a dune scooter safari, laser tag and visit to Duinrell amusement park near the Hague.

Pupils reported back on their experiences:

The other teams were very good at hockey and it was great chatting to them after the games and I feel as though my hockey improved on the tour as Mr Whitehouse gave us lots of good advice after each match.

“It was the highlight of the term by far, I loved the hockey and all the activities we did especially the pancake bakery because the pancakes were delicious! The ferry over was very rocky but when I went on the deck it was awesome. I have so many pictures and I will never forget it. I loved going dune scooting and we all froze running in the water on the beach. The hostel was very nice as well as the food. Everything was amazing and I loved it all.” - Juliette

“I really enjoyed the tour because we all got to spend some quality time together. The dungeons were amazing and scary and we learned about Amsterdam’s history which was really interesting. It was a once in a lifetime experience which I shared with all my best friends – thank you for taking us.” - Robin
