Heart-wrenching performance at Inter-Patrol Singing Competition

The annual singing competition took place just before half term, and was once again a lovely occasion. Pupils from across the school who receive singing lessons were split over several classes through the course of the day, based on their current level of attainment. We were pleased to welcome Tim Dickinson as our adjudicator. Tim taught singing at Westbourne House up until 2009, and now enjoys a freelance career as a singer.

The morning’s classes saw pupils from Years 3 to 6 deliver some magical performances, with music spanning several centuries. In the afternoon, pupils in Years 7 to 8 took to the stage, with some very accomplished vocal skills on display. The senior class, and the title ‘Westbourne Singer of the Year’, was won by Phoebe Perry, who gave a heart-wrenching performance of ‘Wishing you were somehow here again’ from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera. Congratulations to everyone who took part, and particularly to the winners!
