Guy Musson to be new Westbourne House School Headmaster from September 2026

We are delighted to announce that the new Headmaster of Westbourne House School, from September 2026, will be Guy Musson.

The search for the new Head was extremely competitive. We ran a rigorous interview process involving two rounds of interviews with governors and meetings with staff. Westbourne House’s strong reputation attracted an exceptional field, including several serving Heads from outstanding schools across the country.

James Patrick, Chair of Governors

Guy read Economics and Geography at Durham University before gaining a PGCE and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Buckingham. He has worked in a number of leading independent prep schools, beginning his career at the Dragon School, Oxford and then The Perse School in Cambridge. He went onto two Deputy Headships, at Garden House School in London and then Ludgrove, before his most recent role as Headmaster of Orwell Park, a 2-13 coeducational day and boarding prep school in Suffolk. During Guy’s time at Orwell Park, a record number of Year 8 children gained scholarships to many pre-eminent senior schools across the UK and the school’s financial position was significantly improved allowing for an extensive programme of enhancements to the facilities.

Guy is married to Milly, an experienced prep school teacher who has recently worked as Director of External Relations at Orwell Park, heading up admissions and launching a very successful Parents’ Association which brought together the parent and staff communities. Guy and Milly are very strongly committed to fostering a warm, welcoming and familial atmosphere at Westbourne House. They have two children, Charlotte (9) and Freddie (7).

“I am truly honoured to have been given the opportunity to be the next Headmaster of Westbourne House School. It is a school that I have known and admired for a long time, with generations of my family living in West Sussex. Westbourne House is clearly a very special place. When visiting the school, I was immediately struck by the purposeful, happy energy that radiated from both the children and staff, and by its beautiful grounds and impressive facilities. I strongly believe that a child’s formative years are the most magical and important, and that kindness, breadth of opportunity and ambition for every child must be at the heart of everything we do.”
