Gr8 Outdoors Week

Year 8 went off timetable during one of the final weeks of term for the Gr8 Outdoors Week.  The week was designed to bring some light, fun and joy to all our special Year 8s as we approach the last few weeks of term.

Mr Cousens said: "We'd like to thank our Year 8 pupils for their commendable approach to the remote learning programme. Their patience, flexibility and exemplary attitude has been admirable at a time of significant uncertainty and frustration for them."

As the government guidelines were changing, there was luckily some scope for Year 8 pupils to do some of the tasks with friends subject.

On Make It Monday, Year 8s sent in some wonderful pictures of their 'ultimate woodland survival den', and we heard that lego men had made it into space!  We also received a photo of a bookcase that had been transformed into a planter and pupils and their pups doing a dog agility course.

On Triathlon Tuesday, when pupils could pick any three sports, we saw the classics of running, cycling and swimming, but also trampolining, SUPing and basketball.

Mr Cousens so enjoyed the photos sent to him on Walking Wednesday, especially as the day had a specific focus on nature and photography.

On Track and Field Thursday, the Year 8s created mini heptathlon challenges which in some cases involved jumping over garden furniture!

Beach cleans and helping in their local villages ensured that Feel Good Friday really did feel good.
