We had a special evening for our boarders, with Chinese New Year being marked by a spectacular buffet laid on by the kitchen team.
Mr Allum and Miss Maindonald said, “It was a great evening to be on duty! We had spare ribs, Peking duck pancakes, jumbo prawns in sweet chilli sauce and all manner of special treats and it was lovely to hear all about the different New Year traditions from our Chinese pupils.
"The children took part in a quiz all about the Year of the Tiger and produced some wonderful artwork to accompany the feast!"
Earlier in the day, Year 4 had been interested to hear from two of their class friends about all the traditions and excitement of Chinese New Year thanks to a presentation. Special stickers were applied to windows, traditions were explained and the children learnt how to say Happy New Year.
