Boarding round-up - December 2025

It is always an exciting term in boarding and this one was no exception. Fireworks, Christmas feasts and the boarders’ disco will live long in the memory! On the last day of school, there were tears as we said goodbye to our Spanish boarders, who have returned home to continue their schooling. We will miss you all very much.

Weekend Adventures

Our weekends were packed with fun and variety. Highlights included a walk with Mr Cousens up the Trundle, giving our boarders spectacular views across Chichester, lively games sessions with the Pitmans featuring Othello, Monopoly and cards, and a trip to Sea Life Centre.

Perhaps the standout moment was a visit to the King’s Theatre in Southsea to enjoy a traditional British pantomime. Coincidentally, the theatre opened in 1907 – the same year as Westbourne House School. The boarders thoroughly enjoyed watching (and joining in with) the performance, enthusiastically shouting the classic pantomime refrain: 'He’s behind you!'

Mr Pitman, Houseparent, said: “This year it was Aladdin, featuring ‘Barry’ from EastEnders and TV chef Rustie Lee. There was plenty of loo roll, water squirting and laughter – it was a riotous affair and we had a fantastic time. Fortunately, both the boarders and the cast lived happily ever after.”
