Boarding news - Oct 2022

Settling In

It has been great to see all our boarders, whether boarding one night or seven nights a week, settling into their new houses, outhouses and dorms.

Sunday outings

Our full-time boarders visited Portsmouth and were out on the water in Sunday's afternoon sunshine at Portsmouth Harbour and afterwards enjoyed a bit of retail therapy at Gunwharf Quays.

"We went on a boat tour around the harbour and we saw lots of big ships," said Annie.

"I loved the shopping," commented Sarah. "We had a bit of money and we bought a cup of boba - it was so good - we have lots of these cafes in China."

Perhaps there's nothing better than being able to choose what to buy! Eduardo agreed that the shopping was very satisfying. "I bought a baguette with cheese and ham," he said with a big smile.

Annie also mentioned Saturday evening's trip to a bowling alley: "It was so much fun. The teachers are very good at planning weekends."

What a lovely accolade for our team of weekend staff, matrons and houseparents.

"The weather on the water was stunning and the kids a joy to be with."

Footgolf and Wednesday evenings

We had lots of beautiful evenings in this first half of term. Wednesday night is one of the boarders' favourites as there is extended free time to explore the grounds and play games together after sports matches finish.
